(a)On and after July 1, 2011, it shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or attempt to engage in the business of a crematory operator in this state without a crematory operator's license issued by the state board of mortuary arts.
(b)On and after July 1, 2011, every person desiring to enter the practice of a crematory operator shall make written application to the board on forms as prescribed by the board. The application shall show that the applicant is of legal age, has successfully completed training in performing cremation services and received certification by an organization whose program with a minimum of six hours has been approved by the board within twelve months of the board's approval of application.
