(a)The dedicated source of revenue for repayment of a loan to a municipality may include service charges, connection fees, special assessments, property taxes, grants or any other source of revenue lawfully available to the municipality for such purpose. In order to ensure repayment by municipalities of the amounts of loans provided under this act, the secretary, after consultation with the governing body of any municipality that receives a loan, may adopt charges to be levied against individuals and entities served by the project. Any such charges shall remain in effect until the total amount of the loan, and any interest thereon, has been repaid.
