(a)The board is hereby authorized to contract with another agency of this state or with a private vendor, as necessary, to ensure the effective implementation and operation of the methamphetamine precursor recording log. The state agency or private vendor selected shall have the technological capability to receive electronic log data from pharmacies submitted pursuant to K.S.A. 65-16,102, and amendments thereto, and to send real time notification to law enforcement officials. Regardless of the entity selected to manage the program, pharmacies are not required to use any one particular vendor's product to comply with the requirements under K.S.A. 65-16,102, and amendments thereto. Any electronic system implemented by the state shall be capable of bridging with existing and future operation
