§ 48-1906 — Certification by chief law enforcement officer for transfer of certain firearms

Kansas·Ch. 48 MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY·Art. 19 SALE AND PURCHASE OF CERTAIN FIREARMS
(a)When the transfer of a firearm requires certification by a chief law enforcement officer in accordance with 27 C.F.R. § 479.85, in effect on January 24, 2003, a person may apply for such certification to a chief law enforcement officer. Within 15 days of receipt of a request for certification, the chief law enforcement officer shall provide such certification and approve the transfer unless a condition as provided in 27 C.F.R. § 479.85 exists which the chief law enforcement officer cannot certify because of specific acts or information directly related to the applicant.
