Text
(a)No elevator shall be erected, constructed, installed or altered within or adjacent to a building or structure unless a valid permit is obtained from the state fire marshal. Such permit shall be issued prior to the commencement of any work on such elevator. A permit shall only be issued to a licensed elevator contractor. A copy of such permit shall be kept at the construction site at all times while the work is in progress. Notwithstanding the issuance of a permit, no work shall be performed on any such elevator if the state fire marshal has issued a stop work order for such elevator.
(b)A licensed elevator contractor may apply for a permit in such form and manner as prescribed by the state fire marshal. The applicant shall pay the required permit fee with such application, which shall
