Any election which was held prior to the effective date of this act for the approval of the issuance of general obligation bonds of the metropolitan Topeka airport authority to pay the costs of constructing, equipping and furnishing a new commercial air terminal in accordance with K.S.A. 27-334 and which had notice thereof first published 17 days prior to the election instead of 21 days prior to the election is hereby validated. The board of directors of the airport authority may issue the bonds in the amount and for the purpose approved by the voters at the election. The bonds shall be legal and binding obligations of the airport authority.
