The county election officer shall appoint a special election board pursuant to the requirements of K.S.A. 25-2801 to be composed of at least three (3) members. In addition to the duties of the board required by K.S.A. 25-1326, the supervising judge of such board shall open every machine each morning and close and seal every machine each evening. The county election officer shall also take the proper security measures to assure that such machines are not damaged or tampered with in any manner during their use and prior to and during tabulation of ballots.
