§ 9-20-15-1 — Permit requirement; fee
Indiana·Title 9 MOTOR VEHICLES·Art. 20 SIZE AND WEIGHT REGULATION·Ch. 15 Special Restrictions Concerning Special Tractor-Mobile
(a)A person may not operate a special
tractor-mobile home rig on a highway unless the person first secures a
permit to operate the rig from:
(1)the Indiana department of transportation; or
(2)an agency or a political subdivision of the state designated by
the department to issue the permits.
(b)Except as provided in subsections (c) and (d), the fee for a
person to move a special tractor-mobile home rig under subsection (a)
is eighteen dollars ($18) per trip.
(c)Notwithstanding subsection (b), a person may purchase a
quarterly permit for unlimited trips during the quarter to move a special
tractor-mobile home rig under subsection (a). The fee for a quarterly
permit is five hundred dollars ($500).
