Text

(a)The bureau shall classify each vehicle that is eligible to be registered under this title based on:
(1)the application submitted under IC 9-18.1-3;
(2)this title; and
(3)rules adopted by the bureau under IC 4-22-2.
(b)If the bureau is unable to classify a motor vehicle that is eligible to be registered under this title, the bureau shall classify the vehicle as a truck.
(c)If the bureau is unable to classify a vehicle without motive power that is eligible to be registered under this title, the bureau shall classify the vehicle as a trailer.
(d)The bureau shall classify a tractor that is not used with a semitrailer as a truck. [Pre-2016 Revision Citation: subsection (b) formerly 9-29-1-7.]
