§ 5-26-3-1 — Contract for establishment of system

(a)The commission may contract for the
establishment of a statewide wireless public safety voice and data
communications system.
(b)The system must:
(1)be efficient;
(2)provide modern two (2) way voice or data communication to
user agencies without a duplication of efforts; and
(3)allow user agencies with compatible equipment to
communicate with one another, resulting in the efficient handling
of emergencies and cooperation between agencies.
