Text
A law enforcement agency is not required to notify or send a letter to the parent, guardian, or custodian of a child under section 3 of this chapter if:
(1)the parent, guardian, or custodian is the alleged perpetrator of
the crime; or
(2)notification or sending a letter to the parent, guardian, or
custodian would not be in the best interests of the child due to the
relationship of the parent, guardian, or custodian with the alleged
perpetrator of the crime.
