§ 5-2-1-11 — Powers; establishing training programs
Indiana·Title 5 STATE AND LOCAL ADMINISTRATION·Art. 2 LAW ENFORCEMENT·Ch. 1 Mandatory Training for Law Enforcement Officers
(a)The board is further authorized and
empowered, in accordance with the rule making power granted in
section 9 of this chapter, to adopt all necessary rules to:
(1)establish inservice and advanced training programs, and
minimum courses of study and attendance requirements for such
programs, to ensure that all appointed and elected law
enforcement officers may be offered training in current
enforcement and related subjects;
(2)establish training programs for railroad police, prison and
industrial guards, postsecondary educational institution safety and
security personnel, whether public or private, and such other
enforcement related groups as the board may deem necessary, on
a voluntary enrollment basis;
(3)establish policies and procedures governing the use of state
owned law enforcem
