Text
(a)A member may suspend the member's
membership in the applicable fund if the member terminates
employment and is not currently employed in a covered position with
the applicable fund.
(b)After five (5) continuous years in which the member performs
no service, the member's membership shall be automatically suspended
by the board unless the member has vested status.
(c)A member retains the member's creditable service for the period
of employment before the suspension of membership, but only to the
extent that the same period of employment is not being used by another
governmental plan for purposes of the member's benefit in the other
governmental plan.
