Text

(a)As used in this chapter, "retired participant" means the following:
(1)A participant who is eligible for a normal, unreduced or disability retirement benefit (as determined by the Indiana public employee retirement fund of which the participant is a member) on the participant's last day of service.
(2)A participant who has completed at least ten (10) years of service as an elected or appointed officer on the participant's last day of service as an elected or appointed officer. For purposes of determining whether a participant has completed at least ten (10) years of service on the participant's last day of service for purposes of this subdivision, any partial year of service completed by the participant in the year in which the participant is appointed to fill a vacant elected office
