§ 5-10-11-3 — "State employee"
Indiana·Title 5 STATE AND LOCAL ADMINISTRATION·Art. 10 PUBLIC EMPLOYEE BENEFITS·Ch. 11 State Employees' Death Benefit
As used in this chapter, "state employee"
means an employee of a state agency, except a state educational
institution. The term includes a member of the Indiana National Guard
while the member is serving on state active duty. "State employee"
does not include a public safety officer who receives benefits under IC 5-10-10.
