(a)The following definitions apply throughout this section:
(1)"Firearm" has the meaning set forth in IC 35-47-1-5.
(2)"INcite" means the Indiana court information technology extranet.
(3)"NICS" has the meaning set forth in IC 35-47-2.5-2.5.
(4)"Office" means the office of judicial administration created by section 1 of this chapter.
(5)"Prohibited person" means a person who is prohibited from:
(A)possessing a firearm under state or federal law; or
(B)carrying a handgun under IC 35-47-2-1.5(b).
(b)The office may, before January 1, 2024, develop and maintain a system to transmit data contained in the following, for the purpose of aiding law enforcement in the identification of a prohibited person:
(1)The odyssey case management system.
(2)The NICS reporting application.
