§ 31-34-19-3 — Civil commitment; child with a mental illness

Indiana·Art. 34 JUVENILE LAW: CHILDREN IN NEED OF·Ch. 19 Dispositional Hearing

If it appears to the juvenile court that a child has a mental illness, the court may:

(1)refer the matter to the court having probate jurisdiction for civil commitment proceedings under IC 12-26; or
(2)initiate a civil commitment proceeding under IC 12-26. [Pre-1997 Recodification Citation: 31-6-4-15.3(c) part.]
