Text
(a)The local office shall maintain the medical
record for a foster child when the child is placed in foster care. The
record must remain with the child until:
(1)the child is returned to the natural parents;
(2)the child is adopted; or
(3)a legal guardian is appointed for the child.
(b)Unless otherwise prohibited by state or federal law, the local
office shall provide a copy of the medical record to the child or the
child's legal guardian after the child in need of services case or
collaborative care case is closed.
