§ 31-25-4-18 — Order for genetic testing to establish paternity; income withholding
Indiana·Art. 25 CHILD SERVICES: ADMINISTRATION·Ch. 4 Child Support Provisions of Title IV-D of the Federal
(a)Under 42 U.S.C. 666, the bureau has the
authority, without a court order, to order genetic testing to establish
paternity.
(b)The bureau may not order genetic testing as provided under this
section without a request from a local child support attorney where an
order for child support is entered.
(c)The bureau shall recognize and enforce the authority of a state
agency from another state to take any action as required under 42
U.S.C. 666(c).
(d)The bureau shall notify the appropriate circuit court clerk in any
case where an action of the bureau results in income withholding or a
change of payee of a child support order in a Title IV-D case.
(e)In accordance with 42 U.S.C. 654B(a)(3), the bureau shall
provide a single address to which income withholding payments may
be sent.
