Text

(a)Except as provided in subsection (b), IC 31-19-4 applies to notice given to a putative father and IC 31-19-4.5 applies to notice given to other persons.
(b)If a petition for adoption alleges the consent of a putative father or a parent to the adoption has not been obtained and is unnecessary under:
(1)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(1);
(2)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(2);
(3)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(4)(B);
(4)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(4)(C);
(5)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(9); or
(6)IC 31-19-9-8(a)(11); notice must be given under IC 31-19-4.5.
