(a)Except as otherwise provided in this article and subject to subsection (b), the amendment of the articles of incorporation of a mutual insurance company under a plan under this article must be conducted in compliance with IC 27-1-8.

(b)The commissioner, the attorney general, and the secretary of state shall:

(1)examine; and

(2)if warranted, approve; the proposed articles of amendment before the amended articles are submitted to the members for approval.
