§ 27-13-7-26 — Coverage for pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders
Indiana·Title 27 INSURANCE·Art. 13 HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATIONS·Ch. 7 Requirements for Group Contracts, Individual Contracts,
(a)An individual contract and a group
contract must provide coverage for treatment of:
(1)pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated
with streptococcal infections (PANDAS); and
(2)pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANS);
including treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin therapy.
(b)The coverage required by this section may not be subject to
annual or lifetime limitation, deductible, copayment, or coinsurance
provisions that are more restrictive than the annual or lifetime
limitation, deductible, copayment, or coinsurance provisions that apply
generally under the individual contract or group contract.
