(a)Service of process upon any nonresident producer licensee in any action or proceeding in any court of competent jurisdiction of Indiana arising out of the nonresident producer's insurance business in Indiana may be made by serving the commissioner with appropriate copies thereof and paying to the commissioner a fee of two dollars ($2). The commissioner shall forward a copy of such process by registered or certified mail to the licensee at the licensee's last known address of record or principal place of business, and shall keep a record of all processes so served upon the commissioner.
(b)The service of process under subsection (a) is sufficient if notice of the service and a copy of the process are sent to the licensee at the licensee's last known address of record or principal place
