§ 25-8-3-30 — Civil penalties; investigations; state board of cosmetology and barber examiners compliance fund

(a)The board shall implement a program to
investigate and assess a civil penalty of not more than five hundred
dollars ($500) against a licensee under this article for the following
violations:
(1)Violation of this article under IC 25-8-14-5.
(2)Failure to display a license required under IC 25-8-4-13.
(3)Failure to continue to meet the licensure requirements under
IC 25-8-4-29.
(4)Engaging in beauty culture outside a beauty culture salon
under IC 25-8-9-14.
(5)Operating a tanning facility without a license under IC 25-8-15.4-5.
(b)An individual who is investigated by the board and found by the
board to have committed a violation specified in subsection (a) may
appeal the determination made by the board in accordance with IC 4-21.5.
