The board shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 concerning the scope and subject matter for the examination of applicants for certificates of registration as registered architects. The examination must be a written test of the applicant's competency to plan, design, specify, and supervise architectural projects. The examination must include the following subjects:

(1)The planning, specifying, designing, and construction of buildings.
(2)The strength of building materials.
(3)The principles of sanitation and ventilation as applied to buildings.
(4)The ability of the applicant to make practical application of his knowledge in the ordinary professional work of an architect. The board may require the written examination to be supplemented by oral examinations. Formerly: Acts 1929, c.62, s.9. A
