5.Notwithstanding section 12 of this chapter, the commission may issue a temporary plumbing contractor's license to an applicant who has an ownership interest in or is an officer of a contracting business if the plumbing contractor licensee operating the business has died or is physically or mentally unable to operate the business. The commission may issue the license for the period needed to dispose of the contracting business or to otherwise meet the emergency giving rise to the need for the license. However, a temporary contractor's license may not be issued for a period, including all renewals, exceeding two (2) years.
