2. As used in this chapter, "licensed practical nurse" means a person who holds a valid license issued under this chapter or IC 25-42 and who functions at the direction of:
(1)a registered nurse;
(2)a physician with an unlimited license to practice medicine or
osteopathic medicine;
(3)a licensed dentist;
(4)a licensed chiropractor;
(5)a licensed optometrist; or
(6)a licensed podiatrist;
in the performance of activities commonly performed by practical
nurses and requiring special knowledge or skill.
