§ 23-14-31-30 — Crematory authority; liability for cremation or disposition
(a)Except as provided in section 36 of this
chapter, a crematory authority may cremate human remains upon
receipt of a cremation authorization form signed by an authorizing
agent.
(b)In the absence of gross negligence or noncompliance with this
chapter, a crematory authority is not liable for:
(1)cremating human remains according to an authorization; or
(2)releasing or disposing of the cremated remains according to an
authorization form.
