Text
(a)In accordance with the compact for
education adopted by the state under this chapter, the following seven
(7)individuals are designated to represent the state as commissioners
on the education commission of the states:
(1)The governor.
(2)One (1) member of the senate appointed by the president pro
tempore of the senate.
(3)One (1) member of the house of representatives appointed by
the speaker of the house of representatives.
(4)Four (4) members appointed by the governor, and serving at
the pleasure of the governor, each of whom, either in a
professional or lay capacity, is:
(A)involved in the educational system in Indiana; or
(B)familiar with the educational needs and problems in
Indiana.
(b)The commissioners designated in subsection (a) are not required
to hold meetings. Howe
