(a)Teachers who are assigned to teach an
advanced course may participate in summer training institutes offered
by the College Board.
(b)For a teacher to be eligible for a stipend under section 8 of this
chapter, the training in subsection (a) must do the following:
(1)Provide teachers of advanced placement and teachers who
instruct preadvanced placement courses with the necessary
content knowledge and instructional skills to prepare students for
success in advanced placement courses and examinations and
other advanced courses.
(2)Provide administrators, including principals and counselors,
with professional development that enables them to create strong
and effective advanced placement programs in their respective
schools.
(3)Provide middle school, junior high school, and high school
