Text

(a)The governing body of a school corporation and an organizer of a charter school shall require each school in the governing body's jurisdiction or organizer's responsibility to conduct periodic emergency preparedness drills during the school year in compliance with rules adopted under IC 4-22-2 by the state board.
(b)Each school and attendance center shall conduct at least:
(1)one (1) tornado preparedness drill; and
(2)one (1) manmade occurrence disaster drill; during each semester.
(c)At least one (1) manmade occurrence disaster drill required under subsection (b) must be an armed intruder drill and must be conducted in conformity with the requirements of section 27 of this chapter and within ninety (90) calendar days after the beginning of the school year.
