Text

(a)The department shall establish policies and procedures that foster, to the extent possible, the scoring of student responses of an open ended writing assessment on a statewide summative assessment by Indiana teachers. The teacher may not grade student responses of students who are enrolled in the same school corporation, charter school, state accredited nonpublic school, or eligible school (as defined in IC 20-51-1-4.7) in which the teacher is currently employed.
(b)The scoring of student responses under a statewide summative assessment:
(1)must adhere to scoring rubrics and anchor papers;
(2)must measure student achievement relative to the academic standards established by the state board; and
(3)may not reflect the scorer's judgment of the values expressed by a student in the stu
