§ 20-31-3-3 — Revising and updating academic standards
Indiana·Title 20 EDUCATION·Art. 31 ACCOUNTABILITY FOR PERFORMANCE AND·Ch. 3 Adoption of Academic Standards
(a)The department shall revise and update
academic standards:
(1)for each grade level from kindergarten through grade 12; and
(2)in each subject area listed in section 2 of this chapter;
at least once every six (6) years. This revision must occur on a cyclical
basis.
(b)The department, in revising and updating academic standards
under subsection (a), shall do the following:
(1)Consider the skills, knowledge, and practices:
(A)that are necessary to understand and utilize emerging
technologies; and
(B)that may be rendered obsolete by emerging technologies.
(2)Consider for removal any academic standards that may be
obsolete as a result of emerging technologies.
(3)Provide support to school corporations regarding the
implementation of revised and updated academic standards that
