Except as otherwise provided in IC 20-26-7.1, a school corporation (as defined in IC 36-1-2-17) may convey property owned by the school corporation to a civil city or other political subdivision for civic purposes if:

(1)the governing body adopts a resolution recommending the transfer and conveyance of the school property;
(2)the civil city or political subdivision agrees to accept the school property; and
