Text

(a)A school corporation may:
(1)purchase buildings or lands, or both, for school purposes; and
(2)improve the buildings or lands, or both.
(b)Notwithstanding this section through section 18 of this chapter limiting the purchase of school buildings, a school corporation may:
(1)purchase suitable buildings or lands, or both, adjacent to school property for school purposes; and
(2)improve the buildings or lands, or both, after giving notice to the taxpayers of the intention of the school corporation to purchase. The taxpayers of the school corporation have the same right of appeal under the same procedure as provided for in IC 6-1.1-20-5 through IC 6-1.1-20-6.
