(a)Except as provided in this chapter, a charter school may not establish admission policies or limit student admissions in any manner in which a public school is not permitted to establish admission policies or limit student admissions.
(b)Notwithstanding subsection (a), a charter school may operate as a single gender school if approved to do so by the authorizer. A single gender charter school must be open to any student of the gender the school serves who resides in Indiana. [Pre-2005 Elementary and Secondary Education Recodification Citation: 20-5.5-5-3.]
