§ 20-23-7-1 — Purpose

It is the purpose of this chapter to provide for the organization of public schools in Indiana to:

(1)promote the best interests of the students of Indiana;
(2)provide for the organization of additional forms of local school government;
(3)preserve and ensure an economical and efficient school system in accordance with the desires of the people in local communities; and
(4)improve the education of the students of Indiana as guaranteed by the laws and Constitution of the State of Indiana. [Pre-2005 Elementary and Secondary Education Recodification Citation: 20-4-8-1.]
