§ 20-18-2-13 — "Parent"

Indiana·Title 20 EDUCATION·Art. 18 GENERAL PROVISIONS·Ch. 2 Definitions

"Parent" means:

(1)the natural father or mother of a child;
(2)in the case of adoption, the adopting father or mother of a child;
(3)if custody of the child has been awarded in a court proceeding to someone other than the mother or father, the court appointed guardian or custodian of the child; or
(4)if the parents of a child are divorced, the parent to whom the divorce decree or modification awards custody or control with respect to a right or obligation under this title. [Pre-2005 Elementary and Secondary Education Recodification Citations: 20-8.1-1-3; 20-10.1-1-9.]
