2.
(a)This section applies to the plugging of
a well other than a well that is plugged under section 4 or 4.3 of this
chapter.
(b)An owner or operator must give written notice of intent to plug
a well to the department on a form provided by the department at least
ten (10) days before beginning the plugging of the well under this
chapter.
(c)The notice under subsection (b) must include a plan for plugging
a well:
(1)that describes the specific methods that will be used; and
(2)that is sufficient to demonstrate compliance with the
requirements of this chapter.
(d)The owner or operator may not begin the plugging of any well
under this section until after receipt of written approval from the
department of the plan referred to in subsection (c).
