§ 14-35-2-1 — Department investigations; granting permit
The department may do the following:
(1)Conduct geologic investigations, including exploratory
drilling, to evaluate the quality and reserves of mineral deposits
on land and water of the state.
(2)Grant permits for investigations and exploration described in
subdivision (1) by interested persons.
