Text
The department shall do the following:
(1)Organize, establish, and maintain a program of education,
training, and service throughout Indiana to combat forest, brush,
or open fires occurring in Indiana.
(2)Establish an organization of trained volunteer forest
firefighters to be known and designated as the Indiana volunteer
forest firefighters service.
(3)Cooperate with local firefighting services and the department
of homeland security to combat fires under this section.
