§ 14-23-2-1 — Collection of information; recommendation of plans
The department shall do the following:
(1)Collect, digest, and classify information respecting forests,
timber land, forest preservation, and timber culture.
(2)Recommend plans and methods for forest preservation and
timber culture and for the establishment of state forest reserves.
