Text
The purpose of this chapter is to provide
necessary and prompt assistance and care without stigma to the citizens
and residents of Indiana who are entitled to avail themselves of this
chapter's provisions, especially those having little or no resources and
low income persons or the homeless or unattached or those requiring
care and support or nursing beyond the capacity of the family home in
situations not requiring hospitalization or other medical treatment or
care in other state and county institutions. This chapter shall be
liberally construed so that its purposes may be accomplished as
equitably, economically, and expeditiously as possible.
