Text
If it is determined in a proceeding under this article that an individual:
(1)is mentally ill and either dangerous or gravely disabled;
(2)should be committed to a facility for custody, care, and
treatment; and
(3)is a veteran who may be eligible for treatment in a federal
facility;
the court may communicate with the federal department concerning the
availability of federal facilities and the individual's eligibility to be
committed to a federal facility.
