§ 12-26-11-1 — Transfers; facilities to which transfers may be made; best interest of individual transferred or other patients

Indiana·Art. 26 VOLUNTARY AND INVOLUNTARY·Ch. 11 Transfer of an Individual

The superintendent of a facility to which an individual was committed under IC 12-26-6 or IC 12-26-7 or to which the individual's commitment was transferred under this chapter, may transfer the commitment of the individual to:

(1)a state institution;
(2)a community mental health center;
(3)a community intellectual disability and other developmental disabilities center;
(4)a federal facility;
(5)a psychiatric unit of a hospital licensed under IC 16-21;
(6)a private psychiatric facility licensed under IC 12-25;
(7)a community residential program for the developmentally disabled described in IC 12-11-1.1-1(e)(1) or IC 12-11-1.1-1(e)(2); or
(8)an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ICF/IID) that is licensed under IC 16-28 and is not owned by the s
