§ 12-24-19-3 — Discharge or transfer from institution to least restrictive setting
A patient shall be discharged or transferred from a state institution to the least restrictive setting:
(1)when the discharge or transfer is appropriate to the patient's
unique needs;
(2)to prevent unnecessary and inappropriate hospitalization; and
(3)in accordance with standards of professional practice.
