3.As used in this chapter, "employed", "employee", "employment", or "employs" refers to services performed by an individual for compensation. The terms do not refer to services performed by an individual who volunteers, including an individual who provides assistance and receives an allowance, a stipend, or other support under the federal Foster Grandparent Program (42 U.S.C. 5011).
