§ 10-19-8.1-9 — Council duties

(a) The council shall do the following:
(1) Meet, as often as necessary, to discuss immediate or emerging
threats that could impact the safety and security of the state and
its residents.
(2) Review the state's counterterrorism plan developed by the
department and provide recommendations to enhance the state's
capacity to prevent and respond to terrorism.
(3) Review the state's hazard mitigation plan developed by the
department and provide recommendations to enhance the state's
resiliency for manmade and natural disasters.
(b) The council may create ad hoc advisory groups, task forces, or
subcommittees to assist the council with its responsibilities. Persons
appointed to advisory groups, task forces, or subcommittees serve for
terms as determined by the council.
