Text
(a)Public notice must be provided in the
manner set forth under this section if a petition signed by:
(1)at least five hundred (500) citizens and taxpayers of a county;
or
(2)at least two hundred (200) citizens and taxpayers of a city;
requests the establishment and maintenance within the county or city
of a memorial for the soldiers and sailors of World War I. The petition
must be addressed to the board of commissioners of the county or the
common council of the city and filed in the office of the auditor of the
county or clerk of the city.
(b)The auditor or clerk shall:
(1)publish a notice that includes a copy of the petition or a
summary of the petition in a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the county or city;
