Text
(a)The state police board is established. The
board shall administer, manage, and control the department.
(b)The board consists of six (6) members appointed by the
governor, not more than three (3) of whom may belong to the same
political party. A member of the board appointed by the governor shall
serve for a term of four (4) years except when appointed to fill a
vacancy for an unexpired term. In making appointments to the board,
the governor shall select one (1) member from each of six (6)
geographical regions in Indiana as described in subsection (d). Each
member must be a permanent resident of the region from which the
member is appointed.
